About

I am a trumpet player living in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. In nearly 20 years of playing, I have had the opportunity to perform with many ensembles, in many genres and many places. I keep active in the Victoria arts community in a variety of ways, keeping busy as a published collage artist, the director of the Victoria Noise Festival as well as my full time job as Stage Manager with the Victoria Symphony.

I studied jazz at the Clark Terry Institute of Jazz Studies and earned my B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Mary in 2002. One of my earliest and strongest influences comes from the music and harmony of Bill Evans. In particular his trio recordings with Scott Lafaro and Paul Motian. Any night that you catch one of my groups playing, you will likely hear fresh arrangements from this songbook as well as the music of Cole Porter, Horace Silver, George Gershwin, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, Clifford Brown, Bill Frisell and many more.

The group I play with can take a variety of different forms depending on the engagement. Whether it's a trio, a quartet or a larger ensemble we can adapt a set for any size audience or occasion. If you're interested in bookings, send me a message and we can discuss your needs!
